Samoa Aviation and Roads Investment Project

The development objective of Aviation and Roads Investment Project for Samoa is to improve the climate resilience and safety of the Recipient’s aviation and road sectors, and in case of an eligible crisis or emergency, respond promptly and effectively to it. This project has four components. 1) The first component, Climate Resilience and Safety Investments in the Aviation Sector, has the following sub-components: (i) Technical Assistance; (ii) Physical Investments and equipment; and (iii) Regional Airport Maintenance Program. 2) The second component, Climate Resilience and Safety Investments in the Road Sector, has the following sub-components: (i) Technical Assistance; and (ii) Physical Investments and Work. 3) The third component, Strengthening the Enabling Environment, has the following sub-components: (i) Technical, advisory, and administrative support required for SAA; and (ii) Technical, advisory, and administrative support required for LTA. 4) The fourth component, Contingent Emergency Response Component, is designed to provide a swift response in an event of an eligible crisis or emergency, by enabling Samoa to request the World Bank to reallocate project funds to support emergency response and reconstruction.
