General Information
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has granted a class waiver of the Nonmanufacturer Rule for Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing, NAICS code 334510, to include medical ultrasound equipment manufacturing (72 FR 71518, Dec. 20, 2007). Accordingly, an offeror submitting a quotation/offer as a nonmanufacturer for the ultrasound system under this solicitation may supply the product of any size manufacturer and shall be considered small for purposes of this Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside, provided the offeror otherwise meets the nonmanufacturer requirements at 13 CFR 121.406(b) (i.e., is primarily engaged in the retail or wholesale trade, normally sells the type of item being supplied, takes ownership/possession of the item consistent with industry practice, and does not exceed 500 employees).
The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Charleston, SC, Nursing 4A Unit, has a requirement for the Fujifilm Sonosite ST Ultrasound System or Equal, meeting all listed salient characteristics.
The Government intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order.
