Armenia Social Investment and Local Development Project

The objective of the Social Investment and Local Development Project for Armenia is to improve the quality and use of and access to community and intercommunity infrastructure. The project has 3 components. (1) Support to socioeconomic development and capacity building at the local level component will implement microprojects that target vulnerable communities to address priority basic needs. (2) Support to intercommunity social and economic development initiatives component will directly support the Armenia Development Strategy 2012–2015 objectives of reducing regional socioeconomic disparities and promoting harmonic territorial development by financing innovative intercommunity socioeconomic development initiatives. (3) Armenia Social Investment Fund (ASIF) institutional strengthening and project management component will finance project management and operating costs, including salaries, health insurance, utilities, office equipment, field supervision (by ASIF staff), training, financial audits, fiduciary and safeguards oversight, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and management information systems.
