• The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (GoB) has received financing from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the ACCESS – Bangladesh Phase 1 Project, under which the remaining activities of the Bangladesh Regional Waterway Transport Project-1 (BRWTP-1) are being implemented by the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) under the Ministry of Shipping, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
• The consulting services (“Services”) involve the engagement of a single Consultant to take over and complete the supervision, as Project Manager, of six remaining works contracts at sixteen sites: Pangaon Cargo Terminal, Narayanganj and Chandpur Passenger Terminals, and thirteen landing stations/launch ghats (estimated works value Tk 36,275.86 Lac). The Services cover construction supervision, contract administration, quality assurance, and environmental, social, health, and safety supervision. The Services will last 18 months, are expected to commence in January 2027, and will not extend beyond 30 June 2028.
