Cote d'Ivoire Agri-Food Sector Development Project

The development objective of the Agri-Food Sector Development Project for Côte d’Ivoire is to support the development of inclusive, resilient and competitive agrifood value chains benefiting their actors in project areas. This project has four components. 1) The first component, Improving the Business Environment and Institutional Strengthening, has the following sub-components: (i) Strengthening the capacity of key public entities overseeing the sector; (ii) Enhancing value-chain coordination and partnerships; and (iii) Addressing food safety and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) issues. 2) The second component, Building Productive and Resilient Agri-food Value Chains, has the following sub-components: (i) Increasing access to climate-smart technology, innovation, and advisory services; and (ii) Developing agri-food marketing and distribution infrastructure. 3) The third component, Mobilizing Productive Private Investments Along the Value Chains, has the following sub-components: (i) Building the operating capacities of PFIs; and (ii) Facilitating access to finance for private investment in agri-food value chains. 4) The fourth component, Project Management and Coordination, will facilitate: (a) administrative, technical, and FM of the project; (b) coordination among all institutional partners to ensure the efficient flow of information and support to all value-chain actors; (c) effective contractual arrangements with key State implementing partners—FIRCA, ANADER, CEPICI, and CNRA in particular as well as private sector operators; (d) M&E of project performance in procurement, FM, and environmental and social impacts; and (e) development of communication activities to publicize and disseminate project results, best practices, and success stories.
