Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project in the Horn of Africa Phase II

The development objective of Second Phase Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project in the Horn of Africa Project for Ethiopia is to improve access to basic social and economic services, expand livelihood opportunities and enhance environmental management for host communities and refugees in the target areas. This project has five components. 1) The first component, Social and economic services and infrastructure, has the following: (i) Community Investment Fund and Strategic Investment Fund; (ii) Capacity Support for Local Planning and Decentralized Service Delivery; (iii) Women’s Leadership and Voice; and (iv) Social Cohesion and Inclusion. 2) The second component, Sustainable environmental management, has the following sub-components: (i) Integrated Natural Resource Management; and (ii) Alternative Energy Sources. 3) The third component, Livelihoods program, has the following sub-components: (i) Traditional Livelihoods; (ii) Non-traditional Livelihoods; and (iii) Small-Scale, Micro and Household Irrigation Schemes. 4) The fourth component, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning, aims to maintain a functional Project Coordination Unit (PCU) at the federal, regional and woreda levels. 5) The fifth component, Contingent Emergency Response, is set to respond to eligible crises in the project areas.
