Djibouti Emergency Food Security Crisis Response Project

The development objective of Emergency Food Security Crisis Response Project for Djibouti is to contribute to mitigating food security risks posed by food supply shocks and drought. This project has three components. 1) The first component, Mitigating food security risks posed by food supply shock, has the following sub-components: (i) Strengthening capacity for risk management; (ii) Establishing an emergency food stock; and (iii) Establishing a Food Shortage Preparedness Fund (FPF). 2) The second component, Mitigating food security risks posed by drought, has the following sub-components: (i) Improving access to water; (ii) Restoring agricultural and pastoral livelihoods; and (iii) Supporting the establishment and operationalization of a drought warning system and the preparation of a rapid response plan. 3) The third component, Project management and preparation of a preparedness plan, aims to finance activities related to project management and implementation.
