Ecuador: Emergency Resilient Reconstruction Project

The development objective of the Emergency Resilient Reconstruction Project for Ecuador is to restore connectivity and improve infrastructure resilience and road safety in areas affected by natural hazards. The project comprises of two components. The first component, infrastructure recovery and resilience interventions will be assessed against a positive list of eligibility criteria set out in the project operations manual (POM). It consists of following sub-components: (i) infrastructure recovery; (ii) resilience interventions; (iii) activities to complement recovery and resilience interventions; and (iv) acquisition of Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP’s) equipment for emergency response and preventive maintenance. The second component, project management and institutional strengthening for resilience consists of following sub-components: (i) asset management system and planning tools; (ii) capacity building activities, including training, knowledge exchanges, guidelines, and manuals on relevant topics; and (iii) project management support.
