El Salvador COVID-19 Emergency Response Project

The purpose of the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project in El Salvador is to respond to and mitigate the threat posed by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and strengthen the national system for public health preparedness. This project consists of two components. Component one consists of emergency COVID-19 response to prevention, detection and treatment. There are two subcomponents: Subcomponent 1.1 is the provision of medicines, medical supplies and equipment. This subcomponent will strengthen the provision of care at the hospital level for the provision of care outlined in the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Master Plan for the health care facilities that comprise the COVID-19 health care network. Subcomponent 1.2 is preparedness, capacity building, communication and training activities. This subcomponent will finance activities related to preparedness and capacity building required to implement the government’s COVID-19 plan. Component two is project management and monitoring. This component will finance the required project management activities, and administrative and human resources to manage the Project.
