Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project

The development objective of Emergency Agriculture Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project is to contribute to restoring agricultural livelihoods and enhancing climate resilience of farmers and fisher folk affected by Hurricane Maria in Dominica. This project four components. 1) The first component, Restoration of the Productive Base for the Recovery of Agricultural Livelihoods, has the following three subcomponents as follows: (i) Restoration of Cropping Systems; (ii) Restoration of Livestock and Fisheries Systems; and (iii) Building of Climate Resilience and Agribusiness Capabilities. 2) The second component, Restoration of Key Productive Infrastructure and Institutional Strengthening, has the following two subcomponents: (i) Restoration of Key Infrastructure in Agriculture, Livestock, and Forestry; and (ii) Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building of MAF. 3) The third component, Project Management and Coordination, aims to support the establishment of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) within Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF), to serve as the unit responsible for the overall implementation and coordination of the project activities, as well as the setting up of the Implementation Support Team (IST) to be established within the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
