Ferghana Valley Rural Enterprise Development Project

The development objective of the Ferghana Valley Rural Enterprise Development Project for Uzbekistan is to support the expansion of rural enterprise activity and job creation in Ferghana Valley. The project comprises of three components. The first component, enterprise development objective is to facilitate the establishment and growth of micro, small, and medium‐size enterprises (MSMEs) through the provision of technical support and facilitation. It consists of following sub-components: (i) business incubation and mentorship; (ii) cluster and value chain development; and (iii) market promotion and technology testing. The second component, access to finance support two financing instruments: a credit line and a partial credit guarantee (PCG) fund. It consists of following sub-components: (i) credit line for MSMEs; (ii) guarantee fund for MSMEs; and (iii) pilots in financial services. The third component, project management and coordination will focus on strengthening Uzbekistan Agency for the Implementation of Projects in the Field of Agroindustry and Food Security (UZAIFSA’s) capacity for project management, monitoring and evaluation through the provision of goods, consultant services, training, and financing of incremental operating costs.
