This study examines the intersections of social media, gender, and race and relationships. It aims to examine behaviours and practices that Black women on Twitter exhibit while engaging in friendship-making. In studies concerning race and social media, little attention has been paid to how Black women navigate social media's affordances for friendship-making purposes; thus, this project aims to fill this gap, working towards illuminating how digital intimacy operates for Black women on Twitter.
