Provence Grand Large (PGL) is a 25 MW floating farm installed in 2023 offshore Marseille (south of France), in 100m water depth. It is the first floating offshore wind farm operating in France and the first floating wind project at EDF.
PGL relies on Tensioned Leg Platform foundations (TLP) and is the first floating wind project using this technology. As a demonstration farm, a significant instrumentation has been deployed on the turbines and is to be analysed. The project proposed aims at exploring the field data to extract useful information about the farm behaviour and to use this information to quantify the level of reliability of the FOWT simulation tools.
