The Education Authority (EA) currently operates a legacy Fixed Asset Register (FAR) system which supports statutory fixed asset accounting, audit assurance, and financial reporting. The FAR is a core financial system and is subject to audit, year end, and assurance controls.
The system is hosted on site and holds approximately 35,000 asset records, covering land and buildings, transport assets, and ICT equipment. It performs critical accounting functions including depreciation, indexation, revaluation movements, and revaluation deficits that feed directly into EA’s Income and Expenditure Account and statutory financial statements.
