Opportunity Overview
neural circuits perform computations for selectivity and invariance-and applying these
principles to develop biomimetic AI. My background in engineering, neuroscience, and
AI provides a solid foundation for contributing to this interdisciplinary project, and I am
eager to bring my skills and passion to this area of research. This work will present an
exciting opportunity to further explore the computational mechanisms underlying neural
selectivity and invariance in the auditory cortex probed with natural vocalizations-
including the vocalizations recorded using the device I built during my final-year project
in the Kozlov lab. By the end of this PhD project, my dream is to develop biomimetic AI
models that can mimic the efficiency and adaptability of biological neural circuits,
potentially revolutionizing how we understand and interact with natural and artificial
information-processing systems.
