The Government of Georgia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Preparation Grant for Georgia Water Supply, Sanitation, Wastewater, and Hazardous Waste Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The Consulting Services encompass the preparation of a detailed feasibility study for a sustainable, nationally scaled hazardous waste management system in Georgia. Building upon the 2024 EBRD Updated Feasibility Study and recent data from the SWMCG, the study will deepen the existing analysis by specifically focusing on Data Validation- Verifying waste characterization, confirming environmental protection measures and optimizing HW collection and transportation logistics. Re-assessing the proposed site regarding access infrastructure needs and developing a phased construction schedule. HW treatment technology selection, technical parameters, financial sustainability, and capacity phasing consistent with projected waste streams through 2040.
