Opportunity Overview

The development objective of the Enhancing Health System Transformation (GUEST) Project for Guinea is to improve the utilization of quality reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health and nutrition services in selected regions. The project comprises of four components. The first component, supply of quality basic reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH-N) services consists of following sub-components: (i) strengthening of basic RMNCAH-N service readiness; (ii) expansion of results-based financing (RBF) for improved quality RMNCAH-N service delivery in poor-performing and climate sensitive regions; and (iii) enhancing quality through digital health services. The second component, stimulating demand for and access to basic RMNCAH-N services consists of following sub-components: (i) expanding the district-level free health care for the poorest in low-performing and climate vulnerable regions; and (ii) strengthening community health and nutrition. The third component, project coordination, management, and monitoring and evaluation (M and E) consists of following sub-components: (i) project coordination and management; (ii) project monitoring and evaluation; and (iii) strengthening the health information system. The fourth component, contingent emergency response component (CERC) will allow for the rapid reallocation of uncommitted International Development Association (IDA) grant funds in the event of an eligible emergency as defined in OP 8.00.
