Republic of Kazakhstan Kazakhstan Temir Zholy GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Country : Republic of Kazakhstan Project Name : Kazakhstan Railways Modernization Project Project ID No. : P181913; TF0C8822 Project Implementing Agency : Joint Stock Company “National Company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” Joint Stock Company "National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ) has received grant support from the World Bank (WB) to prepare priority investments in Kazakhstan's railway sector, with the implementation period spanning from July 2025 to December 2026. The objective of the grant funding is to enhance KTZ's project preparation and planning capabilities, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of project preparation. The grant funds will be allocated for the preparation of critical projects and investments on the construction and modernization of selected railway sections of the Middle Corridor (MC) in Kazakhstan. The primary greenfield investment under consideration is the construction of the Moiynty-Kyzylzhar Railway Section (366 km). Smaller-scale improvements to sections of the Middle Corridor being considered for financing include various interventions such as the construction of second tracks, enhancements to handling capacity, installation of signaling systems (automatic blocking systems), and more for Altynkol-Jetygen, Beineu-Mangistau, and other selected railway segments. The grant funding will support KTZ for conducting pre-investment studies, performing environmental and social assessments, and providing consulting services across various domains to ensure compliance with the World Bank standards. Additionally, it will aid in the implementation and administrative management of the grant and any potential follow-on operations.
