Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hydropower and Renewable Energy Development

The development objective of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hydropower and Renewable Energy Development Project for Pakistan are to increase renewable energy generation and strengthen the capacity of associated institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This project has four components. 1) The first component, Development of Hydropower and Renewable Energy Investments, has the following sub-components: (i) Gabral-Kalam Hydropower Plant; (ii) Cascade Development of River Basins; and (iii) Solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) on hydropower asset. 2) The second component, Institutional Strengthening and Energy Sector Development, has the following two sub-components: (i) Preparation of Integrated Plans, Feasibility and Design Studies; and (ii) Institutional Strengthening. 3) The third component, : Environment and Social Management, will support preparation, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of resettlement action plans, social management plans. 4) The fourth component, Project Implementation Support and Technical Assistance, has the following sub-components: (i) Project Implementation Support; and (ii) Technical Assistance, Strategic Studies and Training.
