The development objective of the Energy Sector Decarbonization Project is to improve energy efficiency of public buildings and enable the integration of additional renewable energy capacity into the power distribution grid in Montenegro. This project has three components. 1) The first component, Improving Energy Efficiency (EE) of Public Buildings, has the twofold objective of reducing the energy consumption of selected public buildings and institutionalizing an implementation setup for EE investments in the public sector. 2) The second component, Enabling the Integration of Additional Renewable Energy Capacity into the Power Distribution Grid, has the following sub-components: (i) Retrofit of 35 kV switchgear in 100/35 kV substations; (ii) (Replacement of old MV/MV and MV/LV transformers; and (iii) Pilot investments to improve the visibility of the Low Voltage (LV) network. 3) The third component, Technical Assistance and Project Implementation Support, has the following sub-components: (i) Implemented by the MoE with fiduciary support from Technical Services Unit (TSU); and (ii) implemented by Montenegrin National Power Distribution Company (CEDIS) with fiduciary support from TSU.
