The Government of the Republic of Marshall Islands has applied for financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the RMI Urban Resilience Project (RMIURP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. 2. This assignment is intended to strengthen the technical and operational capacity of the Building Safety and Regulations (BSR) Division of the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Utility (MPWIU), in implementing the National Building Code (NBC) and the National Building Code Act. Through the engagement of a multidisciplinary firm, the assignment will provide specialized technical advisory services to support the implementation of the building regulatory system, improve regulatory processes, and enhance the technical capabilities of BSR staff. The assignment will also include targeted technical training for key stakeholders and the development of standard, code-compliant residential building plans to promote safe, affordable, and resilient housing.
