The Government of Mozambique represented by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics (MTL), has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Mozambique Safer Roads for Socio-Economic Integration Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services (“the Services”) involves strengthening the PMU’s capacity to ensure environmental, social, health and safety (ESHS) sustainability of the operations under its oversight. The Specialist will support the identification, assessment, management, monitoring, and supervision of ESHS risks and impacts, and ensure that the preparation and implementation of projects are carried out in accordance with the applicable national legislation, the World Bank ESF or Ops, as applicable, GIIP, and with the requirements of other financing partners where relevant.

The Specialist should provide technical assistance to the UCP and the implementing entities (including Technical Units (UTs) / Project Implementation Units (UIPs= and sectoral agencies) in the design, implementation, monitoring, supervision and reporting of ESHS management instruments and measures. The Specialist should support the preparation, review and consolidation of technical reports on ESHS performance and compliance, ensuring that projects’ activities are implemented in accordance with applicable ESHS requirements.
