Niger COVID-19 Emergency Response Project

The purpose of the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project in Niger is to prevent, detect and respond to the threat posed by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and strengthen national systems for public health preparedness. This project consists of three components. Component one aims to provide immediate support to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and to limit local transmission through containment strategies. There are three subcomponents: (i) Early case Detection, Laboratory confirmation, Contact Tracing, Recording, Reporting; (ii) Essential Health Services supplies, and; (iii) Social Support to Households. Component two will include communication campaign activities that develop and test key messages and materials for COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and enhance infrastructure to disseminate information. Component three will provide support to strengthen public structures for project coordination and management, including central and regional arrangements for coordination of activities, financial management (FM) and procurement.
