The development objective of the Improving Women’s and Girls’ Access to Improved Health and Nutrition Services in the Priority Areas Project for Niger is to increase the utilization of a quality reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH-N) package of services and improve key behaviors in targeted areas. The project comprises of four components. The first component, increase coverage, utilization, and quality of integrated RMNCAH-N package aims to improve the coverage and quality of services, as well as the continuity of RMNCAH-N services to address under-five mortality as well as maternal mortality and sexual and reproductive health. It consists of following sub-components: (i) increase coverage by establishing and scaling up the delivery of an integrated community RMNCAH-N package; and (ii) improve quality of service supply and remove financial barriers for primary health care. The second component, support demand for health and nutrition services aim to remove behavioral barriers to utilize the RMNCAH-N package and promote key behaviors for increased demand. It consists of following sub-components: (i) social and behavior change communication activities; (ii) primary and secondary school-health and nutrition package; and (iii) improve results achievement by developing collaboration and accountability. The third component, strengthen project management and institutional capacity consists of following sub-components: (i) learning agenda and innovation; (ii) governance, multisectoral coordination, and management; and (iii) project management. The fourth component is contingent emergency response component (CERC).
