Opportunity Overview

The development objective of Punjab : Building Fiscal and Institutional Resilience Project for India is to strengthen institutional capabilities, accountability and management of public finances to support public service delivery in Punjab. The PforR operation will support overarching governance and institutional reforms as key for creating stronger enabling conditions, thereby contributing to improving service delivery to citizens. The Program will disburse against achievement of eight Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs) across three Results Areas (RAs) as follows: (i) Result Area 1: Strengthening fiscal resilience and financial management; (ii) Result Area 2: Improving data systems for policy making and support to service delivery; and (iii) Result Area 3: Strengthening local level fiscal frameworks and water service delivery. The PforR operation supports the GoP’s Vision 2030, the importance of which has only been magnified by the COVID-19 shock.
