Punjab Family Planning Program

The development objective of the Punjab Family Planning Program-for-Results (PforR) for Pakistan is to increase utilization of effective quality family planning services in Punjab. The government program includes the population welfare program of the Population Welfare Department (PWD) and the Punjab Health Sector Strategy (2019-28) of the Primary and Secondary Health Department (P and SHD). The Punjab Health Sector Strategy 2019-28 provides the framework for future planning, management, and service delivery by the Punjab Health Department to address health outcomes over the next decade. The PforR will address the challenges by ensuring focus on 3 result areas. The three results areas capture all the operational strategies of the PWD and outcome 1 of the Punjab Health Sector Strategy 2019-28. The results areas are formulated as follows: results area 1: improved availability of family planning services and commodities; results area 2: increased demand for family planning commodities; and results area 3: advocacy and leadership.
