RMI Enhancing Fiscal Management and Building Disaster and Climate Resilience DPO with a Cat DDO

The development objectives of the Enhancing Fiscal Management and Building Disaster and Climate Resilience Development Policy Operation with a Catastrophe Deferred Drawdown Option for Marshall Islands are to: (i) enhance fiscal management; and (ii) build disaster and climate resilience. Pillar 1 focuses on the establishment of financial management processes and procurement practices for sound fiscal management and spending efficiency. Pillar 2 supports a suit of actions to prepare for and respond to climate change and disasters. The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) national strategic plan 2020-30 (NSP) outlines the long-term development strategy. The objective of the NSP is to attain sustainable, equitable, and measurable development that reflects the priorities and cultural values. Developed through extensive consultation, the NSP is divided into five main pillars including (i) social and culture; (ii) environment, climate change, and resilience; (iii) infrastructure; (iv), economic development; and (v) governance.
