The Project Development Objective (PDO) for the Romania Safer, Inclusive and Sustainable Schools Project is to improve the resilience, energy efficiency, and learning environment of selected schools, and to increase institutional capacity for integrated investments in schools in Romania. The Project’s technical design and approaches are underpinned by the following cross-cutting areas: climate change, community inclusion, and gender. The project has five main components - Component 1: Integrated Investment in School Infrastructure; Component 2: Investing in Clever Classrooms; Component 3: Foundations for Future Investments in Sustainable and Modern School Infrastructure; Component 4: Project Management expanding and supporting the staff capacity needed to ensure successful implementation of the activities carried out under the Project; and Component 5: Contingent Emergency Response Component.
