Stabilization and Recovery in Eastern DRC

The development objective of Stabilization and Recovery in Eastern DRC Project for Democratic Republic of Congo is to: (i) improve access to community infrastructure; (ii) enhance the socioeconomic reintegration and resilience of individuals affected by conflict; and (iii) strengthen the capacity of the administrations in selected provinces. This project has five components. 1) The first component, Community-based stabilization, has following sub-components: (i) Facilitation and capacity building for community participatory planning; and (ii) Investments in social and economic climate resilient community infrastructure. 2) The second component, Community-based Reintegration, has the following sub-components: (i) Labor-intensive public works (LIPW); (ii) Cash grants for income-generating activities (IGAs); and (iii) Psycho-social support. 3) The third component, Decentralized Governance, finances the necessary government institutions and systems to enhance ways in which government and external partner resources can be used to sustain medium term stabilization and recovery. 4) The fourth component, Project Management and Research, has the following sub-components: (i) Project Management; (ii) Technical Assistance; and (iii) Research and Learning. 5) The fifth component, Contingency Emergency Response (CERC), aims to establish a disaster contingency fund that may be triggered in the event of a of a national emergency such as COVID-19.
