Support to the Sustainability and Equity of Public Transport Project

The objective of the Support to the Sustainability and Equity of Public Transport Project is to improve the affordability of bus public transport for vulnerable populations in Argentina and the sustainability of the bus public transport system in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. The project is structured into three components. The first component involves the provision of demand-side subsidies to public transport users through the national government’s social fare program and the integrated fare system. The second focuses on institutional strengthening activities. This component includes five subcomponents: improvement of the social fare program, improvement of the bus system supply, improvement of metropolitan transport governance, strengthening bus public transport inclusion, and climate change mitigation and adaptation in bus transport. The third supports project management activities.
