In the workshop for thermal vehicles, four tracks with pits are being extended and expanded to a usable length of 20 meters by means of a new hall extension. Additional space is being created for material storage and offices. In the track area in front of the workshop halls, the tracks of the D-group are being renewed or their alignment adjusted to the geometries of the new hall entrances. The new basement level will house the internal switchgear. Connection to the existing track system of the thermal workshop is via four new turnouts. The new track system will be partially constructed as ballasted track and partially as slab track. The tracks leading into the halls will be raised on stilts in the pits. The construction of the extension and expansion will take place while the workshop remains operational, and the usability of two tracks within the workshop must be guaranteed throughout the entire construction period. The contract awarded here to the contractor includes the construction of the substructure, including all utility lines, manholes, and overhead line foundations; the installation of the pre-ballast, including the track bed; the installation of concrete-embedded tracks including points; drainage pipes; cable duct blocks including manholes; and paving work. Various demolition and dismantling works are also included.
