NASA’s new source array may help revolutionize quantum communication by addressing a fundamental challenge: the unwanted production of multiple entangled photon pairs that introduce noise and degrade transmission. This innovative quantum entanglement source array generates single pairs of entangled photons at a very high rate while inhibiting the production of multiple pairs. By eliminating excess photon pairs, the new source array significantly reduces noise in quantum systems, increasing the successful qubit transmission rate by a factor of 10 to 100.
