Two-stage selection procedure for a general designer for the Eifel Klinik Sankt Josef project in St. Vith, Belgium. The contract concerns the "Eifel Masterplan for the future organization of integrated healthcare and elderly care in the Eifel region." This involves the expansion of the Klinik Sankt Josef (KSJ) in St. Vith onto the adjacent existing building of the current VIVIAS intermunicipal nursing home. The clinic is to be transformed into an "integrated health center," meaning that the activities of an acute care hospital will be combined with those of outpatient healthcare (primary, secondary, and tertiary health prevention, as well as health promotion). In order to transition from a hospital to a regional health center, the clinic requires additional space for basic and emergency care, prevention and healthcare coordination, and the necessary back-office functions. The emergency department, operating room with storage space, sterilization unit, and pharmacy of the clinic need to be expanded and adapted to current requirements. The clinic expansion must allow for the integration of various functions within the facility.
