Opportunity Overview

The A16 motorway resurfacing project will take place between kilometer markers 32 and 19. The project involves replacing the asphalt pavement laid on reinforced concrete. This resurfacing will be carried out in two stages: standard resurfacing (approximately 5 cm) followed by fine drum resurfacing. The resulting debris will be removed separately. The reconstruction phase will involve laying a SAMI (Synthetic Asphalt-Mixed) layer in sections, a 5 cm sub-base, and a 4 cm layer of asphalt. For most of the duration of the project, traffic will be diverted to the opposite carriageway. A lane will be maintained for motorists traveling to and from Tournai. The overall completion time is 60 working days.
