With the Zurich-Winterthur Multi-Track project, the Swiss Federal Government and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) are planning a new double-track line through the Brütten Tunnel and the expansion of the Dietlikon, Bassersdorf, Wallisellen, Winterthur, and Winterthur Töss stations. This will eliminate the current bottleneck in the rail network between Zurich and Winterthur and enable the necessary expansion of services. The project is divided into five sections: - Section 1 Winterthur - Section 2 Brütten Tunnel - Section 3 Dietlikon - Section 4 Bassersdorf - Section 5 Wallisellen. To ensure that the environmental impact during the Zurich-Winterthur Multi-Track project is kept to a minimum, environmental construction supervision (ECO), ecological construction supervision (ECS), soil science construction supervision (SSO), and other specialists will be involved in all sections (A1-A5). This tender covers ecological construction supervision (ECS) for sections A2, A3, A4, and A5. The OeBB's mandate includes the processing and support of the project during SIA phases 4 and 5 (sub-phases 41, 51–53). Ecological construction supervision encompasses the implementation of the landscape management plan, the implementation of measures from the environmental impact assessment (EIA) regarding terrestrial habitats (flora, fauna, neophytes) and wildlife corridors, as well as the implementation of additional requirements stipulated by the Federal Office of Transport (BAV) as part of the planning approval. These measures ensure compliance with environmental standards and the integration of environmentally relevant considerations into the construction process. The OeBB serves as the contact point for questions concerning terrestrial habitats and wildlife corridors, project changes, and interdisciplinary environmental issues.
