The Glattbrugg-Eglisau section of the line is used by international and national long-distance passenger trains, S-Bahn (suburban rail) services, and international and national freight trains. The preliminary study, which included extensive train headway calculations, determined the necessary modifications to the railway infrastructure and signaling system to implement the timetable according to expansion phase AS35 with the minimum possible measures. Furthermore, flank protection measures must be implemented throughout the entire project perimeter to comply with current regulations. The project aims to achieve the timely realization of the reduced train headway by the 2030/2031 timetable change. SBB Infrastructure intends to procure general planning services for SIA phases 31 (preliminary project) through 53 (commissioning, completion), in particular: - Support for the overall project management (technical, organizational, and administrative lead) including coordination of specialists - Planning and investigations in civil engineering (underground and load-bearing structures) - Planning and investigations of the track - Construction phase and sustainability planning
