Switzerland – Construction work – Arbeiten Ausserhalb Zone A, AZA-2

Project Summary: The "AZA" project (Work Outside Zone A) is part of the overall "Zone A – GSA" project. The two existing loops of the container transport systems (Bagtrax) in the interconnected tunnels between the Southern Distribution Center and Zone A, and between Zone A and Dock E, will be replaced by high-speed conveyor belts with overall higher throughput capacities. Due to the replacement of the Bagtrax installations, the transfer zones in the Southern Distribution Center, Building A40, and Dock E also need to be adapted. In Dock E, the existing two pre-sorters, two main sorters, and four security screening devices will be replaced with new systems. Existing lines for storing early baggage will be dismantled. Brief description of tendered work: Adaptations to existing electrical systems, dismantling of electrical components, fuses, and temporary installations during the construction period. Temporary construction facilities for tradespeople, lifting equipment, and lighting for tunnels E66/E67 and in the GSA conversion zone of Dock E.
