The project goal at the Kreuzspital (KRZ) site, Building K, of the Cantonal Hospital of Graubünden is the relocation of the Institute of Pathology to the basement (1st and 2nd basement levels). This involves the conversion of an existing building, not new construction. The institute's current location in Building C (KSH) is no longer suitable due to lack of space and outdated infrastructure. The work includes the creation of detailed implementation plans as well as the supply, installation, and commissioning of stainless steel laboratory equipment that meets the stringent hygiene requirements of pathology. This equipment includes worktables for tissue sample processing, safety cabinets for proper sample storage, and integrated exhaust systems for the safe removal of fumes. The scope of work also includes the planning and installation of the central piping network for the supply of formaldehyde and the disposal of formaldehyde, ethanol, xylene, and water. This network of pipes extends from the laboratories in the 1st basement level to the central supply and disposal unit in the 2nd basement level and ensures a safe supply and proper disposal of these chemicals.
