Switzerland – Construction work

As part of the expansion project, new gravity retaining walls with natural stone cladding are being constructed. A reinforced concrete cantilever slab structure is also being built for the "Gnoll – Wacht Bridge." Cast-in-place bored piles with a diameter of up to 1000 mm are being used for the foundation. Temporary slope stabilization is being achieved using soil nailing. The road alignment is being completely renewed, including adjustments to the foundation layer, road drainage, and utility lines. In addition, a retention basin is being constructed, as well as the foundation for a new salt silo. Existing natural stone retaining walls are being renovated. All work is being carried out while traffic continues to flow and will be completed over several years, from April to October each year.
