Switzerland – Construction work

This contract covers the rehabilitation/replacement of four retaining walls on the N21 national road in Liddes, between km 30.400 and 30.700. The structures vary in length from 20 m to 90 m, and the work is scheduled to be carried out in 2026. Traffic on the N21 (a two-lane, Class 3 national road) will be maintained throughout the entire duration of the works. In addition to the main works on the four structures, the current unpaved shoulder along the valley lane (grass verge) will need to be converted into a drivable surface for vehicular traffic. These works (Lot 211) are part of the overall NEB Gd-St. Bernard Individual Measures K (Part 1) project, which includes the priority rehabilitation of approximately twenty engineering structures. The remaining works, which are not part of this tender, will be carried out between 2027 and 2030. It should be noted that this national road is the subject of a pilot project for sustainable development.
