Switzerland – Construction work – Programm Knoten Bern, AS25 Entflechtung Wankdorf (WKD) AS25 Wankdorf: Hauptlos als GU

To implement the service increases for the S-Bahn (suburban rail) outlined in the STEP 2025 expansion phase, the AS25 Wankdorf South - Ostermundigen grade separation project, including station expansion, will be carried out between Wankdorf and Ostermundigen stations in the coming years. Additionally, the Ostermundigen public transport hub and BZU23 projects for barrier-free access to Ostermundigen station will also be implemented. Due to the complexity of the construction phases, the construction work, including track, traction power, cabling, and work for station access, will be tendered as general contractor (GC) packages. This tender covers the main works within the municipalities of Ostermundigen, Ittigen, and Bern. The construction perimeter extends primarily along the existing Bern - Thun railway line from the Bolligenstrasse bridge at approximately kilometer 110.025 to and including Wankdorf South station at approximately kilometer 108.325, and in the connecting area of the link line. In addition, individual construction works by the cable and traction current departments are being tendered south of the Bolligenstrasse bridge. ------ As part of the "AS25 Wankdorf Junction" project, SBB plans to publish the following additional procurements with the timeframes indicated below: Wankdorf – Footbridge as general contractor (steel construction): - Expected tender: Q2 2025 - Expected bid submission: Q4 2025 - Expected start of construction: Q4 2027 - Expected completion of construction: Q4 2028 Aare Tunnel (AAST) / Transport Tunnel (TRST), Ostermundigen - Wankdorf (tunnel construction): - Expected tender: Q3 2026 - Expected bid submission: Q4 2026 - Expected start of construction: Q1 2028 - Expected completion of construction: Q2 2037 These procurements are not part of this tender, and the binding deadlines can be found in the respective final tender documents.
