Energie Wasser Bern (ewb) fulfills public and commercial tasks in the areas of energy supply (electricity, gas, district heating), water supply, thermal waste treatment, and telecommunications services within the city of Bern and beyond. Bern's electricity supply area is covered by approximately 600 transformer stations, of which around 250 are scheduled for modernization in the coming years. To carry out the modernizations efficiently, mobile transformer stations will be used during the construction phases. These mobile stations must be easy to set up and compact, as space is often limited in the city center.
