EPFL intends to purchase two microscopes: a laser TIRF microscope and a confocal spinning disk microscope. 1) A laser TIRF microscope for super-resolution and dynamic imaging in living cells for its Laboratory for Biophysical Chemistry of Macromolecules (LCBM) in the Faculty of Basic Sciences (SB). The equipment is intended for state-of-the-art research in the field of dynamic single-molecule imaging in cells: see specifications. 2) A confocal spinning disk microscope for its BioImaging & Optics Platform (PTBIOP) in the Department of Life Sciences (SV). The instrument will be used in research, particularly in the life sciences: • Modern spinning disk microscope • High detection sensitivity of the instrument suitable for imaging biological specimens • Flexibility and ease of use of the instrument.
