The subject of the competition is the design of an architectural design for the new building of the House of Municipal Services, including adjacent public spaces in an area suitable for development and located in the central part of Moravská Ostrava (hereinafter referred to as the “designated area”). The designated area includes land with parcel numbers 86/1, 137/1, 4233, 125, 86/10, 3743 in the cadastral register of Moravská Ostrava. The aim of the competition is to find a suitable architectural design for a building in which the departments of the municipality (Department of Transport Administrative Activities, Department of Internal Affairs) will be merged, which are currently located outside the New Town Hall building in rented premises, and where space will also be allocated for some municipal organizations (Puppet Theatre Ostrava, Expat Centre Ostrava, Municipal Police Ostrava). The client emphasizes architecturally high-quality, timeless and, in connection with the rapid development of information technologies, also variable solutions for the building intended for the public, with special attention to overall user-friendliness and aesthetic value, but also energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
