Czechia – Motorway construction works – D6 Žalmanov - Knínice

The subject of the public contract is the construction of the D6 motorway in the Žalmanov - Knínice section. This construction follows the "D6 Knínice - Bošov" construction at the beginning of the section and ends with a connection to the planned "D6 Žalmanov - Olšová Vrata" construction. The total length of the section is 6.950 km, the motorway is designed in category D 25.5/130. It is a directional divided four-lane road with a central dividing strip 3.5 m wide. The beginning of the section is located east of the village of Zlatá Hvězda at the point of connection to the "D6 Knínice - Bošov" section. From here, the route runs to the left of the existing road I/6, crosses the valley of the Ratibořský potok stream and over the diversion of road II/606. After crossing the original road I/6, it comes into parallel with this road in a left-turning curve and continues as a northeastern bypass of the village of Bochov. Before crossing the railway line, the Bochov interchange is proposed. This is followed by a crossing with the railway line, from where the route runs parallel to this railway line to the valley of the Bochovský stream, which it crosses with an overpass. This is followed by a right-hand curve, through which the route enters the track of the original road I/6. The route of the D6 motorway is proposed mainly in the new track. The existing road I/6 will be retained as an accompanying road. Near the village of Herstošice, the D6 motorway crosses the existing road I/6 at an acute angle. Due to a more favorable crossing angle, a realignment of road I/6 is proposed. The length of the realignment is 847 m, the road category is S 11.5/80. Another realignment of road I/6 is proposed at the end of the section. In connection with the considered realignment, a roundabout is proposed on the outskirts of the village of Bochov, which will enable the connection of local roads and road II/208.
