The University Hospital Frankfurt is planning a reorganization of its psychiatry campus, as the existing buildings no longer meet current healthcare standards. The psychiatric clinics comprise the adult clinic (KPSY) and the child and adolescent psychiatry (KJP) department, housed in the listed buildings House 93 (architect Martin Elsaesser, 1929-1931) and House 92 (built in 1998). Despite some renovations, the overall structural condition is inadequate, necessitating a comprehensive modernization project that preserves the ensemble character of the historic complex. In the first construction phase (1. BA), the urgently needed areas of the psychiatric clinics will be realized, including the acute and post-acute wards of the KPSY, the autism therapy and research center of the KJP, and the ambulance entrance. The plans include two interconnected new extensions with approximately 6,400 m² of usable floor space, as well as two technical centers to supply the buildings.
