The special needs school was renovated and remodeled in the early 1990s. After approximately 30 years, the heating system is completely outdated and cannot be repaired due to a lack of parts. Therefore, the entire heating system, including the boiler, pipes, and radiators, will be replaced. Current developments in climate policy will be taken into account. In addition, the electrical systems need to be renewed. All room lighting will be replaced with LEDs. The emergency exit lighting and the fire alarm system no longer meet regulations and must also be completely replaced. The existing wet riser pipe will be replaced with a dry riser pipe. The fire doors in the building do not have sufficient certification and must also be replaced. Due to the high lime content in the drinking water, the sanitary facilities, including all pipes, must be completely renovated. A water softener will be installed. The building's layout will only be changed slightly. One room in the attic will be enlarged to allow for its use. A quiet room will also be created in the attic. Currently, the attic is only partially finished. The existing escape routes are insufficient and must also be brought into compliance with regulations. As part of the measures described above, drywall, painting, flooring, and tiling work will be required throughout the entire building.
