The subject of this tender is the planning and turnkey construction of a new building for a baggage handling system (BMS) as an extension to the existing Terminal 1, as well as a connecting tunnel between the new building and an existing baggage tunnel in Terminal 1 to link the baggage handling systems. The project name is HAM Bag Module 1b (HAMBAGM1b). The planning and construction of the baggage handling system itself and the steel structure for the baggage handling system are NOT part of this tender. The contractor's services for the construction of the baggage handling system are divided into a main construction phase (building) and an interior fit-out phase (building services on the steel platform of the BMS). The new building is to be designed for use with a baggage handling system (Type I) in such a way that a later conversion to an extension of the baggage claim area (Type II) can be easily implemented. The new building is a separate fire compartment; with regard to building services, the new building is not self-contained but functions as an extension. The client has prepared a requirements specification and a feasibility study for the project. The building site covers an area of approximately 3,360 m². The feasibility study indicates that the planned new building has an irregular footprint with sides of approximately 49.0 m and 61.0 m by 55.0 m; the gross floor area is approximately 3,340 m². The target completion date for the contractor's construction work is February 2027. The building, including the baggage handling system, is scheduled to be occupied no later than May 1, 2027.
