Germany – Engineering services – Ingenieurtechnische Untersuchungen zur Entwicklung von Investitionsprojekten und Instandhaltungsstrategien für die Entscheidungssicherheit über Neuinvestitionen am Standort Berlin-MHKW Ruhleben

The subject of this tender is engineering studies for the development of investment projects and maintenance strategies to ensure informed decision-making regarding new investments at the Berlin-MHKW Ruhleben site. The study encompasses the operation of the plant from an economic perspective, taking the current state into account. Currently, five units are in operation: Line A and Lines 1-4 in the East Boiler House. Line A was a replacement investment for Lines 5-8 in the West Boiler House. Lines 5-8 were decommissioned upon the commissioning of Line A and were not dismantled. Lines 1-4 remained in operation and are expected to reach the end of their service life in the early 2030s. To gain certainty for the future development of the site, BSR (Berlin Waste Management Authority) aims to determine the most economically viable way to operate the units. The following options are to be examined: Option 1: Permanent maintenance of lines 1-4; Option 2: Replacement of lines 1-4 (one-to-one exchange); Option 3: Installation of new equipment in the area of boilers 5-8 (replacement investment); Option 4 (additional technical modifications): Feasibility study for the space and energy requirements of a CO2 capture system
