Germany – Engineering services – Verkehrsuntersuchung zur Umgestaltung Knotenpunkt Lindenplatz in Lübeck

Lindenplatz in Lübeck is a major intersection for the city's interregional and regional traffic. The four-arm roundabout is used by approximately 35,000 vehicles and 3,000 cyclists daily. Due to the traffic volume, the non-compliant cycle path design, and the existing geometry of the roundabout, Lindenplatz is an accident hotspot. Two federal highways connect to it. The City of Lübeck plans to redesign Lindenplatz. As part of a preliminary planning phase (variant analysis), a safe and efficient intersection design will be developed. This tender covers engineering services for service phases 1 and 2 according to Section 47 of the German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers (HOAI) (traffic facilities). In addition to the geometric redesign, a traffic engineering assessment/study of a roundabout or a signalized intersection, including a time-step-oriented simulation, is planned.
